A native of Carneys Point, Rick Cheeseman rose to the rank of vice admiral in the United States Navy. Commissioned after graduating from Penn State in 1989, he commanded Navy warships and carrier strike groups during his career. In 2022, he became the Navy’s 60th Chief of Naval Personnel, overseeing the recruitment, training, and careers of sailors throughout the service.
